Considerations for 2021

Dr. Notaro and her staff hope all of you are remaining safe and healthy as we begin the New Year.  We would like to share some important healthcare reminders with you to help make your experience in any office easy and convenient.

  • If you have a new medical insurance, please let all of your doctors know before your first appointment of the year. Also remember to bring your new insurance card to your appointments so that the office can copy it for their records.
  • On the first of the year, most insurance plans reset deductibles and out-of-pocket maxes. That means you may need to meet a deductible before your insurance benefits kick in and then you will be responsible for any co-pays or co-insurance until you reach your out-of-pocket max.
  • Although we as a country are making great strides to overcome COVID-19 and vaccinate our population, that does not mean you can stop wearing masks. Even if you are fully vaccinated against the virus you should continue wearing masks in public and you will be required to wear a mask at all times in our office.
  • If you have or have had COVID-19 please let your doctors know. Not only is it important so that the offices can help prevent the spread of the virus, but also so doctors can observe for any long-term effects of the virus.

Although these times may be scary, please know that our office is doing everything we can to put the health and safety our patients first and foremost. It is important to continue seeing your doctors as putting off healthcare may create further issues down the road. If you are diabetic, seeing flashes/floaters, have macular degeneration, or if you have not been in to our office lately and need to have your eyes examined, please give us a call at 716-839-9009. We look forward to seeing you in the New Year!
