PATIENT TALK: David P.

Making sure our patients receive the utmost care and have a positive experience here at Back of the Eye, MD, is crucial to us. Dr. Notaro goes above and beyond to ensure that quality care and service is delivered to every individual who walks through our doors.

In today’s session of “Patient Talk”, we’d like to introduce you to David P! He is a surgery patient of ours and has been with us since December of 2003. David initially came in after a sudden onset of blindness in his right eye. This was a trying time for him since he is a competitive shooter and heavily relies on his sight.

What did Dr. Notaro do to help you?

“After seeing me for the first time, Dr. Notaro scheduled me for emergency surgery where she placed a scleral buckle around my right eye to fix a partial retinal detachment. After that, she did three additional vitrectomies to help get my sight back to where it was.”

How did this impact you?

“Well what’s amazing is, before I had surgery, I held a very high shooting average. After I couldn’t see out of my right eye, I was nervous that I would never be able to shoot again. Once I had surgery and continued to be treated by Dr. Notaro, I was still able to win championships and maintain proficiency in my sport.”

Any additional comments?

“What you guys have done for me has been wonderful. I am so grateful for Dr. Notaro and her talents. I would not be able to do what I love if it wasn’t for you guys.”
