OCT stands for Ocular Coherence Tomography. It is a type of scanning technology that utilizes light waves to create images. Typically, these images are taken of the back of the eye, or retina. They are created in slices, much like those of a CAT scan. Many conditions are studied by OCT images. Most common ones are macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease.
