Patient Talk: Thomas

Making sure our patients receive the utmost care and have a positive experience here at Back of the Eye, MD, is crucial to us. Dr. Notaro goes above and beyond to ensure that quality care and service is delivered to every individual who walks through our doors.

To highlight our patients and their experiences, we have decided to start a new series for our blog called “Patient Talk.” “Patient Talk” focuses on the patient, giving them the spotlight they deserve for being so dedicated to us. Today, we’d like to introduce you to Thomas!patient-talk-photo

Thomas is a surgery patient of ours and has been with us for four years! He is a retired Buffalo Public School teacher who worked with students who had learning and behavior disorders. He was referred to us by another doctor due to concerns with his left eye. Dr. Notaro discovered a blood clot in the back of his left eye, and he has been with us ever since.

Can you describe what your experience with Dr. Notaro was like?

If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be seeing out of my left eye. She has done some surgery on me and now, I can see well. It has been a wonderful ride.

How did your condition impact your daily activities?

I couldn’t see out of my left eye, and it was a big problem. I’m doing well now, driving around, retired; I’m happy-go-lucky.

How would you describe Dr. Notaro’s handling of your situation?

She is taking care of everyone the way they deserve. She is personable, she relates to you, and know she knows how to talk to you. There was a time where I couldn’t come see her, and my sight was deteriorating. As soon as I came back to see her, she got me right back to where I needed to be. I would definitely recommend a family or friend to see her, no doubt about it.

Any last words?

I feel secure, and I know she is going to do the right thing by me. I feel very comfortable around her.
